My lady boss has been taking classes for cake decorating for the past two months now and the picture below is one of her many creations. As a matter of fact, she baked my cake for my six wedding anniversary several weeks ago and the outcome was beautiful. My husband really enjoyed what she did with the decorations because I requested her to customize the cake toppers by designing an Xbox 360, purses and lipstick for me.

Fried Chicken Adobo Wings
Yesterday, I had the chance to cook some homemade food for my husband and me. One of my husband's favorite Filipino foods is adobo but I went ahead and made it fried chicken adobo. The procedure is the same as when you cook a regular adobo but you fried the cook chicken afterwards. My husband was so happy and we finished eating ten pieces of the chicken wings by ourselves. Take a look at the picture below and let me know what you think!

Check Out Blu Cigs Today!
Are you one of the many people out there who like to smoke but are considering giving electronic cigarettes a try? Well, you are not alone, electronic cigarettes are now becoming much more popular than regular cigarettes because they are less expensive, come in a variety of flavors, don’t leave ashes all over the place, and they do not give off second hand smoke. Right now one of the best electronic cigarettes that you can get a hold of are blu Cigs because they are one of the best selling, most advanced electronic cigarettes out there. The really great thing is that you can order the blu Cig starter kit that contains one e-cigarettes pack, 2 blu batteries, 1 blue wall charger, 1 blu USB charger and 1 five-pack cartridges in your choice of flavor. So why not quit smoking regular cigarettes and try out blu Cigs today, you will definitely be glad that you did!

Magic Sarap Seasoning Mix
I am very thrilled to receive the seasoning mix I ordered online called "Magic Sarap" because this is actually my first time to use this seasoning mix since my arrival in Texas over 6 years ago. The Asian store here in my area only carries the other seasoning called Ginisa Mix which my husband loves so much.
I am looking forward to use Magic Sarap this coming Sunday for our dinner dish. Hopefully, my husband will love the taste of it. Have you or your love one tried this seasoning mix already?

Mexican Food Galore
Summer is one of my favorite seasons every year. I haven't done a lot of cooking lately or at least tried new recipes to prepare for my husband and friends but I am looking forward to cook more next month.
My husband and I decided to make sandwiches at least a couple times each week because it is more convenient and practical especially that we have been so busy with work and school. Lately, we have been eating out a lot and these are the Mexican food I learned to love.

Dear Hubby's Grilled Pork
After I got out from work earlier today, DH decided to surprised me by grilling some pork meat and making some steam rice. I feel so proud with my honey because he knows that I have been craving some grilled pork meat for awhile now. He grilled the meat just the way I like it, we call this meat (Sinugbang Baboy) in the Philippines. Check out the photo, so delicious!

Restaurants in Central New Jersey
As many of you may already know, I really enjoy food, both making food of course and trying new restaurants whenever I am out of town on vacation. Although I have not been able to travel to many places, the few places that I have been to always have excellent restaurants that serve great and interesting dishes. Just recently I had found out about all of the great places to eat in New Jersey, and more specifically, Central New Jersey. At http://www.gocentraljersey.com/ they have a list of the many restaurants in Central New Jersey, and I have to admit that I was really surprised at the many restaurants, and specifically, ethnic restaurants that New Jersey has to offer. Some of the rare types of restaurants that New Jersey has to offer include Malaysian, French, Indian, Lebanese, Mediterranean, and even Ethiopian restaurants! The Ethiopian restaurant is called Makeda Ethiopian Restaurant which is located in New Brunswick, New Jersey and is one of the few Ethiopian restaurants in the country and it is actually well acclaimed by people who have had the opportunity to try it out. I found out that they have many beef and lamb dishes that are reasonably priced and so far this would be one of the places in New Jersey that I would love to visit. Central New Jersey is also home to not one, but two Malaysian restaurants including Penang and Ming Far East Cuisine, both of which are located in Edison, New Jersey. I would love to try these restaurants because Malaysia is of course in Southeast Asia, and I would like to sample foods from that region since I am from the Philippines. So for those of you who would like to try some awesome cuisine, especially ethnic cuisine, the best place to go to would be Central New Jersey and I definitely plan to go there in the future.

Why Wear a Maxi Dress
If you're wondering why you should wear a maxi dress, let me just tell you that they have a bad rap only because they can truly look like blankets on some people. If you have more of a boyish figure, it can be either good or bad, but a maxi dress looks best when it can accentuate curves, not quite flaunt them like a more fitting dress does. Any loose fitting dress will do the trick for comfort. They are extremely comfortable to walk around, sit and do anything in. They also are really beautifully made and are always unique. If you have a barbeque or family party planned they are perfect for showing off. Even if you are going out clubbing, a sun dress can give you enough movement so that you can properly dance and look cute at the same time. Dresses are a wonderful way to show off your feminity. They can make you feel like more of a woman and can help you build self confidence. Almost everyone's legs look amazing in a dress, and be sure to pair it with a pair of cute heels! I will advise that you should always have a back up pair of shoes when wearing heels since they can get quite exhausting. No one wants to have sore feet or any sores or anything so take the extra time to care for your feet and they will appreciate it greatly. Heels and a dress were a match made in heaven and you should always take advantage of the two. You can really stop a show with the right dress and heels. Take the time and really research the different types of dresses that are available and make sure to find the best fit for you. If you are shopping in-store, don't be afraid to ask a sales rep. They aren't scary and they don't mind helping you decide on what to wear. Most of them love to give fashion advice anyway, so give them a chance! Who knows, you might find some fashion guru that will completely revamp and upgrade your whole wardrobe. If you don't know where else to look, try celebrity magazines for some easy hints. Vegan shoes are also becoming quite popular for people to wear. They are made out of much better materials than other shoes and are very unique looking. I personally love maxi dresses because I find that they look very good on my body type. I also love the art that can be put on them since they are so long. Once I saw a woman wearing a maxi dress that had a famous painting on the front, it was so unique I just had to take a picture of her in it, it was so gorgeous.

Fresh Garden Salad
Dear hubby and I have been very diligent with our new diet plan and so far so good. I hope that we will continue to follow through the plan so we will see the result soon. One of the many things that we incorporate with our daily intakes is to have fresh garden salad every day. In fact, we noticed that we have been extra energetic lately ever since we added this to our daily intake. I am excited and I keep crossing my fingers that we will continue to do this even after we see the result.
How about you folks? Would you like to share any diet secret that works?

Officemate
Posted by Virgil Burks
My office mate and I have become pretty good friends. At first, I didn’t think I was going to like her. She’s much older than I am, and doesn’t have kids. She has dogs, which she basically acts like are her kids. She is best buds with our boss, so that made me a little standoffish with her. I didn’t feel like I could really trust her, or confide in her in any way, knowing she has barbeques over at the bosses on the weekends. Slowly but surely, though, she has kind of grown on me. She is really helpful. If she sees me working on something, or overhears a conversation I’m having, she is always quick to offer some help or a supply that would make the task easier. It’s not just work stuff. I was talking with another worker about our tv provider, and she that afternoon she sent me an email with a link to http://www.cabletelevision.net/, and a little note just saying I thought this might be useful. How can I not like her?

Pork Tocino on Stick
My latest food craving was cooking some pork tocino on stick. I've chose to prepare this type of food because it reminds me of home (in the Philippines) and it also one of our favorites. The recipe is so easy and you can do it while you are blindfolded. Check out this yummy photo below!

Classic Macaroni and Cheese
This is a guest post by Dennis Consorte.
Macaroni and cheese is a classic home-style dish and a favorite comfort food. Its rich, creamy flavor is enjoyed by children and adults alike. Everyone can appreciate the cheesy goodness, but these days, mac and cheese is often made from a box. Yes, it’s easy, cheap and convenient but every now and then you deserve a real homemade treat. This recipe for classic macaroni and cheese is doubly delicious and still affordable and easy to make. You will probably already have most of the ingredients in your pantry. The ingredients include 2 cups of elbow macaroni, cooked and drained, 3 Tbsp. of butter or margarine, 2 Tbsp. of all-purpose flour, ½ tsp. of salt, 1/8 tsp. of pepper, 2 cups of milk and of course, 2 cups (8 oz.) of shredded mild Cheddar Cheese, divided. You can also add ¼ cup of finely chopped onion, if you desire. This savory recipe mixes two southern favorites, macaroni and cheese, and casserole.
To begin preparing this dish, rich in calcium and vitamin A, melt your butter in a medium sauce pan over medium heat. If you choose, cook your onions in the butter for about 5 minutes or until tender. Next, stir in flour, salt and pepper. Gradually add milk and cook, stirring occasionally, until the mix has thickened. Remove this mix from heat and add 1-1/2 cups of cheese, stir until the cheese is melted. Combine your cheese sauce with cooked macaroni and pour this into a 1-1/2-quart casserole. Top your macaroni and cheese casserole with the remaining cheese. Bake your mac and cheese in preheated 350°F oven for about 30 minutes or until it is bubbly and the cheese is lightly browned. Now, after 45 minutes total, your delicious dish is done. This homemade macaroni and cheese is a meal you can be proud of that everyone will love. The dish serves six and is both kid friendly and vegetarian friendly. It makes a perfect lunch, dinner or even a side – it pairs very well with chicken.

Clean Kitchen
I just finished cleaning my kitchen after preparing 100 pieces of egg roll to be delivered at my place of work tomorrow. My colleagues ordered 100 pieces of egg roll made purely with vegetables because they are observing the Holy Week and according to their beliefs they are discourage to eat meat every Friday for 40 days.
I commend them for being so committed with their belief and I would like to say cheers to that!

Adopting a little companion for our kids!
Guest post written by Rachel Holt
We don't live near our extended family members and I feel sorry for my kids because of that. I remember when I was growing up that I lived near all of my relatives and they were really some of my best friends growing up. I wish that my kids had that. But they have lots of friends on their own. I was thinking about this not too long ago when I decided that a great resolution to that could be getting the kids a dog for extra companionship. Plus, they've been dropping hints like crazy about wanting a pet. I thought that now's finally the time for it.
But we haven't dropped that hint to the kids and only decided to after we were researching pet adoption and saw the site debtcounseling.bankrupt.com. That helped us figure out if a pet is going to really fit into our family's finances and it gave us some definite insight.
I decided that if I gave up my Starbucks habit it would help free up some costs and I think it's worth it for our family to participate in pet adoption. I want to give a deserving animal a home and my kids a pet companion!

NO Eating of Meat in Preparation for the Holy Week
Ash Wednesday is coming up and everyone at my place of work is already planning on what to bring every Friday since most people are going to observe the lent celebration. This is the time of the year when people are not eating any type of meat every Friday for over 6 weeks if I am not mistaken. I am not a follower to this since I have a different religion but since I work with people who practice this type of belief I am planning to make them some California rolls as well as some vegetable and shrimp egg rolls.
I am looking forward to do my grocery shopping at the Asian store so I can get my ingredients ASAP. What about you folks? Do you eat meat during the lent or not? Let me know your thoughts!
