Slice Raw Squid in Vinegar

One of the foods that I've been craving for the past several days is the one that my grandma used to prepare while I was still in the Philippines. I love eating fresh raw slice squid in vinegar, onion, tomatoes, scallions, hot pepper especially during the summer because we normally go to the beach every weekend. We paired it with grill pork or fried fish. I am drooling while staring at the picture my Mama send to me last night. Take a look at the picture above!

Ingredients:

2 pounds of squid, clean thoroughly
2 pieces of medium tomato, diced
1 large onion, chopped
1/2 cup vinegar

6 cloves garlic, mince
1 cup water
Salt and pepper to taste
cooking oil
1 tsp sugar (optional)

Procedures:
1. Pour soy sauce, vinegar and water. Bring them to a boil.
2. Put the squid into the pan and let it simmer for 5 minutes or so.
3. Separate the squid from the liquid and set aside.
4. Saute onions, garlic and tomatoes for a minute.
5. Place the squid back to the pan and add the mixture of vinegar, soy sauce and water into the pan.
6. Add ground black pepper, salt and sugar (optional).
7. Transfer in a bowl and serve it hot with white rice.
8. Enjoy and relax!
