One of the many things I miss about being in the Philippines is not able to dine out at one of my favorite fast food place called Jollibee. I am craving for some Chicken Joy and Jollibee Spaghetti. I would rather have this delicious food in my table if I was ask to choose between McDonald and Jollibee. Also, going to the Jollibee reminded me of those great memories I have with my family as well as bringing my younger siblings every pay period. As a matter of fact, when my then boyfriend and now my husband visited me in the Philippines for the first time in 2004 we went to Jollibee for our first date. Overall, Jollibee became a huge part in our everyday life in the Philippines.

Chicken with Pork n Bean Sauce

I am very thankful for having a mother who is very talented. She is a good cook, smart and a great provider for the whole family. Being away from my family makes me a little sad sometimes. Well, last night I had the chance to try the recipe I got from my mother. She normally cooked this dish during the weekend when everyone is around. The dish that I made last night is called Pork with Pork and Bean Sauce.

Ingredients:

1 lb pork/chicken
1 can of Pork n Beans
1 small onion
3 cloves of garlic, minced
Salt
Black pepper
soy sauce (optional)
cooking oil
1-2 cups of water
vegetables (optional)

Procedure:

1. Saute the garlic and onion in a pan.
2. Add the meat and saute until it turns a little brown.
3. Add water, simmer until meat is tender.
4. Add soy sauce, black pepper and simmer for another 5 minutes.
5. Lastly, add the can of pork n beans. Serve hot!

Food Adventure

Dearest husband and I had been dining out a whole lot lately. As a matter of fact, we have been trying new cuisine at least once a week when we both have the same days off from our places of work. One of my favorite dishes that I tried was fried calamari. DH and I also went to try out our local Vietnamese restaurants here and wow I am so impressed; the food was perfectly cooked to my liking and so delicious. Lastly, we went to one of my favorite restaurant of all times and that is Texas Road House. I am forever grateful for having a husband who is as an adventurous as me.

My Sister's Gulaman Recipe

I love having a big family because we can always rely on each other. For instance, one of my younger sister’s specialties is making delicious desserts. I was drooling after I saw this picture a month ago when she made some gulaman for my other sister's birthday. It looks so delicious and according to her the ingredients were not expensive. Cake Decorating

My lady boss has been taking classes for cake decorating for the past two months now and the picture below is one of her many creations. As a matter of fact, she baked my cake for my six wedding anniversary several weeks ago and the outcome was beautiful. My husband really enjoyed what she did with the decorations because I requested her to customize the cake toppers by designing an Xbox 360, purses and lipstick for me.
