Various Filipino Foods

There are only 3 months in the calendar that my family in the Philippines doesn't have any birthday celebration to celebrate. Last January my sister Evonne celebrates her twenty-first birthday and my family made a little dinner celebration for her with some extended family members and friends from church in attendance. Next week, my brother Eric will be celebrating his 20th birthday on February the 10th.

I wish to be present during this celebration with my younger siblings but I can't because I am too far away from them. All I can do is watch them during the celebration using through internet video chatting. By the way, I have uploaded a picture below which is a photo taken during my sister's birthday celebration. Quit smoking 2011 New Year's resolution

I picked up smoking as a stress reliever when I was in college and I've been meaning to quit over the years. I've even tried about five or six times over the years but never quite took to it. There was even one time that I kind of got addicted to candy because I would eat it instead of smoking. I knew that wasn't going to work either. But this is the time that I'm going to actually quit smoking for good.

After I decided my New Year's resolution for 2011, I went online to try and find some ways that I was going to try and quit the habit and when I was doing that I came across the website http://www.cleartvbundle.com/internet_tv_bundle_deals.html. After I read through it a little bit and showed it to my husband, we decided to sign up for an internet service package through it for our home internet.

But I'm really determined to stick with my quit smoking resolution. I'm basically telling everyone that I've ever met in my life that I'm quitting smoking this year so that people will ask me about it and make me feel accountable for it.

Sauteed Garlic Shrimp

Tonight I prepared one of my husband's favorite foods called Sauteed Garlic Shrimp. The ingredients are very easy to find and it is very easy to cook.

You will need:

2 pounds of Shrimp (optional)
garlic, mince
1/2 cup of butter
2 cups of lime or lemon soda
black pepper

Procedure:

1. I normally marinate the shrimp for 20 minutes or so.
2. Start melting the butter and make sure it is hot before putting putting the garlic over
3. Saute the garlic until it turns gold brown
4. Put the marinated shrimp together with the sauce and let it cook until the sauce is all gone
5. Put some spices such as ground black pepper or salt
6. Serve hot with rice
